J.D Parkinson is a visual artist and printmaker based in Brighton, England. Having moved to the city to study Illustration in 2011, he fell in love with the city and hasn’t left.
His work is based in experimentation through engaging with different processes to create graphic works that aim to push perceptions of the possibilities offered by printmaking.
He has amassed over a decade of experience working professionally as a screen printer in a fine art print studio, creating editions for artists, galleries and publishers in the U.K and abroad.
His own artistic practice is constantly developing and changing, having created work in many different mediums over the years, from spray painted murals, hand printed skateboard graphics, to also working as a tattooist. For close to 20 years has created designs under the name Parky Doodles.
With the creation of a new body of more abstract works in 2025, combined with the feeling of disillusionment with social media, this site hopes to act as a more lasting in-depth record of the ideas and steps behind some of his artistic processes.
